About General Rent-All

Jon Fielitz was in the farming business until 1978 when he decided to sell the farm and open a rental store in Wooster. Thanks to a great staff, the business thrived and eventually, he opened three new stores in Orrville, Ashland, and Millersburg. In order to spend more time with his family and enjoy his woodworking hobby, Jon sold the successful rental business in 1991.

An opportunity knocked again for Jon in 1997. This time, Jon and his son Dan, a high school senior, purchased A Rental Emporium in Massillon from Bob and Tim Maloney. Shortly after the purchase of A Rental Emporium, a national rental chain left Orrville, giving this father and son team another opportunity for expansion. Venture Sales and Rental opened in 1999 and became their second store.

The third location in North Canton was purchased when Al and Doris Sterling, owners of General Rental Center, decided to retire. This gave Jon and Dan an opportunity to realize their desire and further expand their service area.

When Jon and Dan added their fourth location in Wayne County, they created a new name and look for the company, which is now known as General Rent-All Inc. This Wooster store is located next to the fairgrounds and also rents Penske Trucks by the hour, day, or week.

General Rent-All’s mission is to provide contractors, industrial maintenance workers, do-it-yourselfers, and farmers, with the best quality, dependable rental tools and personal service possible.
